This project involved the design and fabrication of 23 custom tables, seating 70 guests for a restaurant in Midtown, Atlanta. Concrete was selected for its structural durability, cost-efficiency, and aesthetic. The production required custom molding and casting built from PVC. I developed a workflow for pouring and curing the large-scale surfaces within the limited space of the studio.
Post-production involved routing the edges for ergonomic comfort and buffing the surfaces to a high-gloss finish, ensuring the material felt tactile and intentional rather than raw. The soft freckled greys of the cast concrete reflect pools of light from the overhead pendant fixtures, while the inherent visual weight of the material grounds the interior.
